Our Ethical Approach
At CarbonWhat? we do not just make products – we make a difference. Rooted in a philosophy of global connection and mutual care, we believe that sustainability is not optional; it is essential. We are all neighbours in this shared home we call Earth and that means rejecting a “me-first” mindset in favour of an “us-together” approach.
Every purchase you make will lead to the planting of trees in different locations on our beautiful planet, like Kenya, Madagascar and many others. We contribute a % of each sale towards tree planting because reforestation efforts revive natural habitats, improve coral reef health, support local livelihoods and aid in the fight against climate change by extracting CO2 from the air. Trees are planted by several Reforestation Projects in partnership with thegoodapi.com.
Our ethos drives us to partner with factories around the world that share our passion for crafting quality goods while prioritising ethical practices and environmental stewardship.

We partner with factories in India, Vietnam and China that share our dedication to quality manufacturing and maintaining safe, healthy working environments. These facilities adhere to stringent regulations concerning wages, child labour, overtime, health, safety, and environmental standards. Factory audits conducted throughout the year ensure compliance with high standards for product quality and ethical conduct.
The Vietnam production facility is a leader in the textile industry, excelling in workplace conditions, systems excellence and product quality. Their commitment extends to the wider community through initiatives such as student scholarships, financial aid for childcare and investments in renewable energy.
The Indian and Chinese production facilities hold WRAP certification, demonstrating compliance with the highest standards of safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing. WRAP, the world’s largest independent certification program for the apparel and sewn products industries, ensures ethical practices are at the forefront. Additionally, all dyeing processes at these facilities are certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, ensuring ecological safety and sustainability.
At CarbonWhat? we are committed to delivering eco-friendly products while prioritising ethical practices and sustainability at every stage of our production process. Together, we aim to create a better future for all.
